Urgent care is convenient when your child is sick, and it makes your life easier as well. The latest studies show that an average urgent care visit is about half the cost and half the wait of an emergency room visit.

We all want the best care for our children and sometimes it is difficult to determine whether we should take them to the Emergency Department or Urgent Care.

The list below offers a guide to choosing the right treatment option for your child.

Visit the Emergency Department for:
Altered mental states
Coughing up blood
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Poison ingestion

Serious or severe injuries, burns or shocks
Severe abdominal pain
Severe fracture or broken bone
Sudden blurred vision
Unconsciousness

Phoenix Children's Urgent Care physicians all have experience in pediatric emergency medicine and are part of the Phoenix Children's Emergency Department staff. Patients will have access to the same sub-specialty support as our patients at the main campus.
