Dental Issues

 

"Dental" refers to the teeth and gums. Children need to be taught how to best care for their teeth and gums, to prevent problems like cavities (dental caries) and gum disease (gingivitis). Some children have dental problems that need treatment or surgery.

 

Some of the topics included in the dental care of children include: 

• dental braces or orthodontics
• dental care for special needs children
• fear of dentist
• fluoride
• teeth grinding
• TMJ or the temporo-mandibular joint
