Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease that affects the mucus and sweat glands. This causes problems with the respiratory and digestive systems. Thick mucus forms in the airways, increasing the chance for lung infections. People with cystic fibrosis may not make many pancreatic enzymes, so they cannot absorb nutrients as well from the digestive tract.
