Autism Diagnostic Clinic
The Autism Diagnostic Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital is the only comprehensive program in a freestanding children’s hospital in the state of Arizona. That means that your child can be seen by all of the specialists they need, all in one place. And because we’re a children’s hospital, we’re focused on family-centered care.
Our goal is to diagnose early, provide the most comprehensive assessment and treatment plan, and provide families with the support to best take care of their child.
Our team works with the child and family to implement effective learning and behavioral interventions to help the child grow and develop to the best of their ability.
Our Autism Diagnostic Clinic also helps identify medical diagnoses often associated with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), such as seizures, gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders and behavioral disorders. We coordinate referrals to the appropriate specialists for your convenience.
Dr. Robin Blitz leads the way
Dr. Robin K. Blitz, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, leads the Autism Diagnostic Clinic within the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Dr. Blitz is the only board-certified, hospital-based developmental pediatrician in Arizona to train residents and provide autism consultations to Valley pediatricians.
Collaborative care that is 100% for children
Dr. Blitz is dedicated to managing autism by doing a comprehensive evaluation to find the source of the child's disorder and by finding the best treatment to help kids reach their maximum potential.
Specialized assessment testing, parental education, and access to pediatric specialists - in addition to the Hospital's family-centered focus - makes the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital uniquely qualified to treat pediatric patients with autism and other developmental behavioral needs.
After being referred in to the Autism Diagnostic Clinic, Dr. Blitz collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, OT/speech therapists, audiologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and/or gastrointestinal specialists to create treatment plans to meet the comprehensive needs of the child.
