Neuro-oncology Clinic
Partnered with the Children's Neuroscience Institute, this interdisciplinary team involves pediatric oncologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychologists, nurses, and counselors -- as well as radiologists, pathologists, and endocrinologists -- in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of patients.
The Clinic treats more than 70 percent of brain tumor patients in Arizona.

Neuro-NICU
The Neuro-NICU represents a collaboration between two of our renowned Centers of Excellence: the Children's Neuroscience Institute (CNI) and the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Phoenix Children's is one of only two children's hospitals in the country offering a comprehensive Neuro-NICU. The six key programmatic components of the PCH Neuro-NICU include: neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neurodevelopmental assessment support, follow-up clinic, research, and cooling therapy.
With the full support of PCH multi-disciplinary care, we offer medical specialties and expertise in a broad range of related sub-specialties, including neonatology, epilepsy, neurosurgery, pathology, and metabolic and genetic testing. This level of care and monitoring distinguishes the Neuro-NICU as cutting-edge in its diagnosis and treatment of neurologically affected neonates.

Each tech is pediatric trained, enabling them to calm children and achieve high-quality testing without sedation.
Fifty percent of the caseload is epilepsy patients, making Phoenix Children's a leader in treatment of seizure disorders.

Biobehavioral unit
Phoenix Children's offers the only inpatient pediatric psychiatry program in Arizona for children under 16 with psychosis or dangerous behavior. The psychiatry outpatient clinic offers expert diagnosis and treatment of high complexity child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.
Cochlear implant program
The Audiology Department coordinates a full-service cochlear implant program, from diagnosis and surgery to device fitting and monitoring, as well as rehabilitation services for the child and family.
Neuro-Developmental Evaluation Program (NDEP)
This program involves periodic developmental evaluation for infants born prematurely or who are at risk for developmental delays. Developmental pediatrician Robin Blitz-Wetterland, MD, and neurologist Janet Teodori, MD, lead the comprehensive program that treats high-risk patients and makes sure all of their developmental needs are met.
Spasticity Management
The Center's Spasticity Management program diagnoses movement disorders and offers interdisciplinary treatments including intrathecal baclofen, BOTOX, rhizotomy, and rehabilitation (physical, occupational, and speech therapies).
Neuroscience PICU
Phoenix Children's has a dedicated pediatric ICU (Care Area 1F) especially for neurology and neurosurgery patients.
As the only dedicated pediatric rehabilitation program in Arizona, the program takes referrals from all over the state – and even patients from out of state. The interdisciplinary team involves several neurosciences disciplines as well as Child Life and recreational therapy.
Neuropsychological assessment
Neuropsychologist Michael Lavoie, PhD, leads the comprehensive evaluation program that offers testing based on an appreciation of functional neuroanatomy and normal brain development, defining how a child is functioning in comparison to expectations for that child's age level.
