Endocrinology
The Division of Endocrinology at Phoenix Children's Hospital offers a comprehensive team approach to treatment and management of endocrine disorders. The Hospital's endocrinologists are trained in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology and are nationally recognized experts in diabetes and growth-hormone deficiency. Our team consists of the endocrinologist, endocrine nurse practitioner, endocrine nurse specialist, nutritionist, social worker, and child life specialist.
Some of the highlights of the Division of Endorcrinology include:
- An ACGME-accredited fellowship program in pediatric endocrinology.
- Phoenix Children's Diabetic Center (PCDC), an American Diabetic Association accredited Center of Excellence for diabetes care and education and the only full-service pediatric diabetes center in Arizona. PCDC, serving about 1,800 children with diabetes, strives to provide superior care to children with diabetes through continuous education, multidisciplinary support and continuous program quality improvement.
- The Endocrinology Department is actively engaged in finding new cures for endocrine disorders. The Department is currently conducting 11 studies in such topics as diabetes mellitus, cystic fibrosis, obesity, short stature, and late endocrine effects in oncology patients.
