As one of a few clinics in the country, the Sleep Study Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital is a vital resource for children with sleep disorders and their families.
Our team of physicians, sleep medicine nurse and staff are dedicated to providing information, resources and a welcoming, supportive environment to children with sleep disorders and their families.
How much sleep should your child have at night?
3 to 6 years old: 10 - 12 hours per day
7 to 12 years old: 10 - 11 hours per day
12 to 18 years old: 8 - 9 hours per day
Tips for better sleep:
- Go to bed and wake up at the same time throughout the week,
including weekends. - Avoid stimulating activities prior to bed, including computer, TV or
cell phone. - Establish a relaxing pre-sleep ritual such as warm bath or reading.
- Keep the bedroom dark, quiet and cool.
- Avoid caffeine or exercise just before bed time.
