Dennis Lund, MD, Joins Phoenix Children’s Hospital as Executive Vice President, Phoenix Children’s Medical Group and Surgeon-in-Chief
Phoenix—July 6, 2011 - Dennis Lund, MD has joined Phoenix Children’s Hospital as Executive Vice President of the Phoenix Children’s Medical Group and Surgeon-in-Chief.
Dr. Lund is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for Phoenix Children’s Medical Group, the nearly 200 physicians employed by the hospital. As Surgeon-in-Chief, Dr. Lund will oversee all aspects of surgical processes to ensure the hospital remains on the cutting edge of surgical quality and safety. Working with the CEO and members of the senior leadership team, he will bring the physicians’ perspective to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Hospital.

Dr. Lund comes to the Hospital from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was Professor of Surgery and served as Chairman of General Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief at the American Family Children’s Hospital. Prior to that, he spent 27 years at Harvard where he received his education and training, then served as a faculty member at Children’s Hospital, Boston, for almost a decade. Dr. Lund is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery.
