Developmental Pediatrics Rotation
Welcome to your Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics rotation.
This rotation is different from many other rotations as you are based at PCH but have many “field trips” to other locations. In addition, your role is often one of observer in many of the settings.
Through this rotation you should become familiar with typical and abnormal development in childhood, behavior management techniques, various aspects of developmental assessment, and referral sources/patterns in our community for children with developmental disabilities. Some of the ½ days are to familiarize you with what happens after you, as the PCP, refer a child for evaluation or services. The rotation has a variety of modalities to meet these goals: lectures, site visits, assessment observations, websites, case studies/modules, articles, books, tutorials, and an individual case presentation.
Specific rotation information can be found here: Intern Orientation
Specific site information such as location, objectives, and reading material can be found under the Site Information link on the left.
