Developmental Pediatrics Physician Training Program Receives First Things First Grant Renewal
Phoenix Children’s recently received word of the renewal of a $187,391 First Things First grant to continue funding its Developmental Pediatrics Physician Training Program. The program, overseen by Robin Blitz, MD, helps train faculty physicians and residents during their developmental pediatrics rotation in the use of standardized screening tools at AAP-recommended well-child checks to ensure the early identification of children with developmental delays and disorders.
A large portion of the funds will be used to purchase CHADIS, a web-based tool providing screening and scoring prior to the visit with the physician, increasing the number of children screened and diagnosed with developmental delays and autism by automating the process.
