Laboratory
Phoenix Children's Hospital's Pathology Department, staffed by the only board certified pediatric pathologists in Arizona, is the only full-service clinical laboratory in the state dedicated to pediatric cases.
The clinical laboratory provides the following tests and services:
- chemistry
- hematology
- coagulation
- flow cytometry
- microbiology
- urinalysis
- serology
- transfusion medicine
- therapeutic drug monitoring
- hydrogen breath testing
- sweat chloride testing for cystic fibrosis
- surgical pathology
- cytopathology
- histology
The laboratory provides oversight and coordination of all point-of-care testing within the Hospital. The laboratory is inspected by the State of Arizona, is accredited with The Joint Commission, and carries a current CLIA license. The laboratory is also a certified laboratory for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
