President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Meyer named to Most Admired CEO
In a ceremony held June 9, President and CEO, Bob Meyer was recognized alongside the Valley's top corporate and organizational leaders as one of the Top 25 Most Admired CEOs. In honoring Meyer, Phoenix Business Journal publisher Don Henninger said, "Bob has put PCH on a growth path. He has reduced the hospital's reliance on expensive traveling nurses, hired more than 100 new pediatric specialists, and is overseeing an expansion that will take the hospital from 345 to 632 licensed beds."
In nominating Meyer for this prestigious award, Ron Brown, Immediate Past Chairman of the Phoenix Children's Hospital Board said, "Bob has performed remarkably well, leading an impressive financial turnaround, developing a new strategic vision for the Hospital to meet the needs of the ever growing community, attracting and retaining some wonderful new talent, initiating and progressing a number of important and critical new clinical programs, extending the reach of the Hospital, improving community access to care through satellite facilities, and currently spearheading one of the largest hospital expansion programs in the country."
Current Board Chairman David Cavazos echoed that recommendation, saying, "Bob's contribution to the transformation of our children's hospital is not limited to its physical improvements, as he believes the true foundation of Phoenix Children's is its medical and support staff. During Bob's tenure, the hospital has attracted even more of the nation's finest and most talented pediatric specialists, whose expertise covers more than 40 sub-specialties, many of which are only available to Arizonans at Phoenix Children's."
