Respiratory syncytial virus, RSV, Respiratory virus season, Visitor restrictions
Most children who are in the Hospital don't have respiratory viruses. They have other medical problems. We don't want them to get respiratory viruses, too. Respiratory viruses can be a real problem for children who are sick or who were born too early.
To help protect our patients, all visitors on both the Thomas campus and McDowell campus must be at least 12 years old and in good health. These visitor restrictions will be in effect until the end of respiratory virus season, which is generally in the spring.
Phoenix Children's, along with most other area hospitals, have instituted restrictions due to the increased level of respiratory viruses being seen in the community.
