God is in the House

The following is a transcript of a commentary by Pat McMahon, which aired on KTAR-AM radio.

It seems that when they say eventually everybody moves to Phoenix, it must be true. We all know that a number of big names have joined the rest of us in making Phoenix home, but I only recently became aware that the biggest celebrity of all has a full-time residence at East Thomas and the Freeway.

God lives there, and if you want proof, just stop by. It's called Phoenix Children's Hospital, and the miracles on that site are so constant that His presence couldn't possibly be seasonal.

Nope! I'm convinced that in the shadow of the 51, God is in the house. And, it's not a vacation home either. Even at His age, He works both a day and night shift. He's in surgery, intensive care, the neonatal nursery. He has to be in emergency 24/7 to handle the 25,000 kids brought in there every year.

At Phoenix Children's Hospital, God not only has to comfort children with cancer and cystic fibrosis, but their families too. And more often than not, miracles happen. And God smiles, and then settles into the evening at home in Phoenix Children's Hospital.
