Miracles in Motion - Marathon Training Program
"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step" – Lao-tzu
The Miracles in Motion program at Phoenix Children's Hospital is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train for a marathon and receive expert training advice along the way. But more importantly, it's a chance to make miracles happen for our patients. Each Miracles in Motion participant is paired with a former or current Phoenix Children's patient, building a special bond that will last forever.
Training starts on August 15th and each participant is asked to raise at least $1,500 that will benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital. Fundraising seminars, tips, and a personal fundraising Web page help participants reach their goals. All race day entry fees are paid, and a coach leads the team through an organized training program with weekly workout schedules. Participants also receive free seminars on topics like proper shoes, stretching, injury prevention, nutrition, hydration, and mental and physical preparation for race day.
The program culminates at the P.F. Chang's® Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Arizona & 1/2 Marathon on Sunday, January 17, 2010.
