Q: When is the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon & ½ Marathon?

A: Sunday, January 13, 2008

 

Q: When will I start training?

A: Training started August 13, 2007 and will continue through December.

 

Q:  Will I have to train on my own as well?

A:  Yes, you will have to train on your own during the week. A Miracles in Motion Group Run will be held every other week. This is a great chance to interact with other participants and get answers to your questions.

 

Q:  How soon can I start fundraising?

A:  Immediately. Start asking family and friends now. Contact the Foundation at (602) 546-GIVE if you need PCH letterhead and envelopes. The online Web page www.firstgiving.com is also available for your use.

 

Q:  When does all my money need to be turned in?

A:  You will need the required amount of $1,500 turned in by December 15, 2007. Additional donations above $1,500 will be accepted past this date.

 

Q:  What if I don't meet the $1,500 fundraising goal?

A:  If you have not met the goal by November 15, you will be asked to sign a re-commitment form to continue with the team training and will have one month to make up the difference between what you currently have and the $1,500 goal.

 

Q: What if I am having trouble raising the minimum fundraising goals?

A: Don't give up. Remember, the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation staff and the Miracles in Motion Committee are committed to helping you reach you goal. Let us know if you are struggling and together, we can come up with some new ideas and opportunities.

 

Q:  If I only train for the ½ Marathon, do I still need to raise $1,500?

A:  Yes.

 

Q: Where does my money go?

A:  All money raised by Miracles in Motion is unrestricted, which means it will be used to provide the most urgent care for the patients and families we serve. 

 

Q:  When can I set up my firstgiving.com personal web page?

A:  Now. You can visit www.firstgiving.com/pch to get started.   

 

Q:  Is firstgiving.com a secure website for donations?

A:  Yes, they use VeriSign.

 

Q:  Are donations tax deductible?

A:  Yes, checks must be made payable to Phoenix Children's Hospital or sponsors can donate online. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter.

 

Q:  Will I meet my honor patient?

A:  Definitely. Runners always meet their honor patient at an event kick-off and post-celebration party, and sometimes throughout training.

 

Q:  Can I select my own honor patient?

A:  Yes, you may select your own honor patient. Please provide us with the honor patient's name, parent(s) name, and contact information.
