Max's Market
Max was born with several congenital defects effecting his heart, intestines, and connective tissue. He spent the majority of his first year of life as an inpatient at Phoenix Children's Hospital and has already undergone more than 30 surgeries and procedures.
Max had his fourth heart procedure in the summer of 2007. This open-heart procedure was Max's most difficult to date. Max's family attributes his quick recovery from this surgery to the support from their PCH friends, as well as all the specialized care Max continues to receive at the Hospital.
In gratitude to Phoenix Children's and the many doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who have cared for Max, his family started a foundation called "Max's Market." The goal of this foundation is to provide clothing and toys for patients throughout the Hospital, ultimately, helping them smile and perhaps forget the pain of illness if only for a short time.
The Market is in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Phoenix Children's Hospital and is stocked with toys, clothes, and other goodies for the children to choose from themselves.
"Max's Market" seeks donations of new toys and clothing throughout the year. Please note all items must be new and unused.
