Ways of Giving

Children's Miracle Network

Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Each year, the 170 hospitals in the network provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind. Since its founding in 1983, Children's Miracle Network has raised more than $2.7 billion in support of these hospitals.

This national charitable effort is unique in that 100 percent of the money raised will stay in the community to support the local children's hospital, which means Phoenix Children's Hospital receives all of the funds raised in the northern two-thirds of Arizona.

Ace Hardware

Thanks to Ace Hardware and a group of its dedicated employees, children at four Valley elementary schools will enjoy the fun and freedom of riding a bike while also learning safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries. Ace Hardware employees from locations throughout the Valley gathered at Phoenix Children's and spent an afternoon assembling 120 kids' bikes that the stores donated during the holiday season. After the bikes were assembled, the volunteers loaded them into trucks and delivered them to schools serving underprivileged children. The majority of the students do not have bikes at home so many of them will learn how to ride a bike during PE class at school for the first time. Thank you Ace Hardware for making a childhood dream come true for some deserving kids in our community!

Credit Unions for Kids

Phoenix Children's sends its heartfelt thanks to Arizona State Credit Union for generously donating a premium Super Bowl ticket package and raising more than $15,000 for the Hospital's 1 Darn Cool School. News/Talk 92.3 KTAR auctioned off the package on air and the winning bidder received two tickets on the lower level and entrance for two to a VIP Party hosted by Hall of Fame Defensive Back Ronnie Lott and 1979 Rookie of the Year Otis Anderson.

In 2007, employees and members of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union secured its position as the top credit union in the nation raising the most money for Children's Miracle Network through Credit Unions for Kids. Through a variety of events including branch change drives, a bowl-a-thon, employee barbecue and golf tournament, Desert Schools raised $340,000 to support the 1 Darn Cool School at Phoenix Children's. This remarkable contribution makes it possible for the teaching staff in 1 Darn Cool School to provide one-on-one instruction, school reentry services, and enrichment activities for the patients at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

IHOP

On February 12th, IHOP celebrated National Pancake Day with a special promotion for the Children's Miracle Network. Millions of free pancakes were served at IHOP locations throughout the country and customers reciprocated by making donations to their children's hospital. Locally, IHOP restaurants raised more than $10,000 for Phoenix Children's Hospital. This was the third year that Valley IHOP's participated – even hosting a pancake breakfast for the Hospital’s patients, families, and employees.
